David MacNeill: Bio

I am a performing songwriter, guitarist, and music producer living in the beautiful high desert of southern Idaho. I've been fortunate to have learned the art of songwriting from one of the greats, my friend and mentor for over two decades: Bob Cheevers of Austin, Texas. Twice we toured the United Kingdom as a duo and with me opening the show. In 2008 we co-wrote and co-produced a Bob Cheevers CD entitled Fiona's World (Berkalin Records). Two of the songs, including the first song on the CD What I've Done For Love and the song Every Beauty I wrote alone.

In January 2008 I released my first solo CD Morningtown which achieved Top 10 ranking in the UK and uniformly positive reviews.

My second CD Woman In White is complete and was released November 2012.

My major influences include early rock 'n roll from Buddy Holly and the Beatles, country/folk rockers like the Byrds and the Eagles, singer/songwriters like Jackson Browne and Warren Zevon, and pub rockers Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds. I've been inspired by Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Costello as much as old school guitar rock from Tom Petty and the BoDeans. Throw in a healthy dose of acoustic alt-country/Americana from Steve Earle and Kevin Welch and you get my brand of rock and roll.
